PAN have been deactivated – how to check your PAN is active or not
Minister of State for Finance Santosh Kumar Gangwar informed the Rajya Sabha in written reply that as on July 27, 11,44,211 PAN have been identified and deleted or de-activated where multiple PANs were found as allotted to one person.
In any case a person cannot hold more than one Permanent Account Number . Penalty of Rs. 10,000 may be imposed under section 272B of the Income-tax Act, 1961 if found default under this section.
By Mistake if a person has been allotted more than one Permanent Account Number then he must inform about having PAN card(s).He must not quote their additional Permanent Account Number in any where.Quoting multiple permanent account number in any where or financial transactions mean the assessee have bad intention.

* Enter surname, name, and date of birth etc along with mobile number
* Receive the OTP on mobile
* Enter OTP
* Result page shows Permanent Account Number and jurisdiction officer address and active/inactive status
